When Pharisees miss the point

09 Jun

One of the more creative gifts my son, Jonathan, received when he graduated from seminary last week was given to him by his sister, Amanda, and her husband, Phillip. They asked an artist friend to create this drawing which they mounted and framed for Jon.

Pharisee - clean the outside of the dish

If you find yourself scratching your head to understand the meaning, read Matthew 23:25-26.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.”

Very creative and well done!
