Christmas: The Mystery of the Nativity

When it comes to the Christmas story, we often get our theology from Christmas cards or Christmas carols. We see Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, the shepherds, the wise men, the star, and the angels as actors in a Christmas pageant. We pose the figures in a Nativity set as if it was the group photo at the birth of Jesus. We lose sight of the fact that these are real people and real events.

During December each year, I preach a series on The Mystery of the Nativity where we examine the various actors in the Christmas story. I try to explain who they were and what God wants us to learn from their lives and experience.

To listen to the sermons in this series, click on the link for the audio file. To save the sermon to your computer, right click on the link and then follow the prompts to “save target as” (Internet Explorer) or “save link as” (Firefox).

I also included a link for the sermon notes for each message. Click on the appropriate link for a pdf file of the outline and sermon notes.
