The Great Commission
Most people think the Great Commission is only found in Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8. A study of Scripture shows that it actually begins in Genesis 12 with the call of Abraham. It includes the call of Matthew (Matthew 9:9-13), Jesus’ interaction with the woman at Samaria (John 4), and many other passages.
The Great Commission is not solely the responsibility of the professionals—missionaries, pastors, and evangelists. It is the privilege of every believer. Each one of us is to share our story of how Christ changed our lives.
Scripture explains that only two things will last for eternity—the Word of God and people. The messages in this series point out the challenge of the Great Commission: Cross the street and cross the ocean to take the word to the world.
